Preliminary Design Concepts
In response to the values and goals articulated during the engagement and visioning phases of the Study, the Project Team produced four actionable programmatic and design scenarios for the Lots: The Grove, The Side Lot, The Colonnade, and The Underground. Per the Centre Street Lots Committee’s selection, only The Side Lot, Colonnade, and Underground were developed and studied beyond hand drawings in this Study, and ultimately, taking community feedback strongly into account, the Centre Street Lots Committee voted to endorse The Side Lot for future study.

A More Walkable Brookline
On Wednesday, September 10, 2025, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at The Coolidge Corner Theatre, 270 community members gathered for a conversation with Walkable City author, urban planner, and Brookline resident Jeff Speck about making Brookline more walkable and visionary concepts for the future of the Centre Street Lots.
